Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I buy a ticket and need to change the time or day?
    • If the need arises tickets can be exchanged for another session. This may be subject to an exchange fee.
  • Will I need to queue?
    • Wedgwood: Artists and Industry is a world-first and therefore we expect large numbers of excited guests. Each session will limit the number of visitors to ensure you have the best possible experience. However, you may need to queue for a little to enter the exhibition. This ensures that other guests can safely enter and exit the building.
  • How long does it take to see the exhibition?
    • Wedgwood: Artists and Industry is self-guided so that you can go at your own pace. The exhibition is displayed over two levels of the gallery and contains around 150 objects. We advise allocating around an hour to explore and discover. Weekday sessions allow for three to three-and-a-half hours for you to view the exhibition, while weekend tickets allow for three hours.

Please ensure you arrive at your session early enough to allow sufficient time to make the most of this experience.

  • How do I book a tour?
    • Tours are available from Tuesday – Friday during opening hours 10am – 5pm. To book your tour, please email galleries@townsville.qld.gov.au for enquiries and one of our team members will be in contact.
  • How will you cater for wheelchair users and prams?
    • The gallery is equipped with ramps from street level and a lift between both levels of the exhibition.
  • I’m deaf or hard-of-hearing. How can I best access more information about the exhibition?
    • We will run several Auslan tours throughout the exhibition. Keep an eye on our website for dates and times. These tours are also suitable for guests with full hearing.
  • Can I bring food and drink into the exhibition?
    • Unfortunately, the exhibition is a food and drink-free zone.
  • Is the exhibition suitable for children?
    • There are plenty of delightful things on show for children to discover. Children 12 and under can experience the exhibition for free!
  • I’m a teacher and would like to bring a school group. Who should I talk to?
  • What is an ‘Any day, Any time’ ticket?
    • An ‘Any Day, Any Time’ ticket allows you to book and visit the show without confirming exactly what day and session you would like to attend. It is a great way to book tickets in advance, especially for groups or for that perfect gift! The ticket is valid for 1 entry only for any session during the entire run of the exhibition.
