Gallery Workshops
Townsville City Galleries offers a range of workshops delivered in our Gallery spaces, catering for children, families, teens and adults, that enable community members to experience the arts through workshops and activities.
Gallery Creatives
For Teens and Adults
Gallery Creatives workshops are one-off, low-cost workshops run in our Gallery spaces, and are aimed at introducing beginners to new techniques and mediums. We engage exhibiting and local artists to develop and deliver these workshops that are informed by the exhibitions on display.
The workshops last around two hours and participants get to take home a finished work at the end. There are two age groups for these workshops, Creative Crowd for teenagers (12 – 17yrs), and adult Gallery Creatives workshops (18yrs+).
Masterclass Workshops
Our Masterclass workshops offer an in-depth insight into various mediums over the calendar year and are aimed at developing skills for intermediate to advanced creatives.

No bookings are required for the Gingerbread Galleries. Bookings are required for Fun Food Drawing.
All materials are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Gingerbread Galleries
Join us at Pinnacles Gallery, Riverway, and get in the festive spirit by making some Gingerbread Galleries! Use the materials provided to add icing effects and details to your paper Christmas creations.

Fun Food Drawing with Kenny Pittock!
Get inspired by the exhibition Yucky Yum Yum at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and learn to draw ice-creams that look good enough to eat, with exhibiting artist Kenny Pittock! Learn how to draw, colour, and shade a series of some yummy and some yucky ice-cream flavours.
The workshop will run for one (1) hour. This is an all-ages workshop, although it is recommended for ages 5 and over.
Bookings required – limited spaces.

Art-box
Join a creative environment with play-based multi-sensory learning for under 5s, families, and carers at Pinnacles Gallery!
From 10:30 - 11:30am on the first Thursday and third Thursday of every month, during school term! *
These workshops are free, and no bookings are required. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
All materials are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
