Charles Moroney Park
General Information
Charles Moroney Park offers a variety of play options for users of all ages and a wide range of abilities.
Some of the inclusive features include extensive concrete pathways and rubber softfall in the main play area, which provides access from the parking areas to the playground facilities. The play equipment includes pieces with Wi-Fi interactive storytelling capabilities that are accessible from ground level, carousels with bench seats and back rests, a “you and me” swing seat which allows carers to swing with their children, units with stairs and handrails for assisted access and units that can be accessed by adults for assisted use. The park also has a toilet facility near the playground.
This accessible play environment uses inclusive equipment that welcomes kids and families of all abilities to learn, play and grow together.
Facilities include junior and senior playgrounds, off-street parking, concrete pump track, exercise course, fenced off-leash dog park, concrete pathways, sports fields, sports courts, lighting, barbecues and shaded seating areas.
Red Bench Project
The Red Rose Foundation launched the Red Bench Project to build a permanent reminder that domestic violence occurs within all of our communities. The presence of a Red Bench in this park aims to raise community awareness and provide an opportunity for this important issue to remain visible.
