The Armory Gallery was originally 4 rooms used for storing weapons and munitions in Townsville’s first military base. In 1908 it was converted to one large room, and eventually became the soldiers’ mess! Now a large, airy (air-con) room with beautiful light, and recently renovated, it is elegant, spacious and far more comfortable that the soldiers could ever have imagined!
The Armory Gallery is available for functions and private hire at reasonable cost.
Heritage listed colonial style timber hall with full length verandah and gardens. Small, airconditioned function room (9m x 7m) available and garden/verandah for outdoor functions.
Currently we have regular yoga and public speaking classes on the Armory, but there are times available for one-off and regular bookings too.
