Riverway Movie Nights are back in 2025
Date published: 15 January 2025
Join Gru and the gang down at Riverway Oval this Friday, 17 January as they welcome a new member to the family in Despicable Me 4.
Townsville City Council’s Riverway Movie Nights is back in 2025 and divisional Councillor Suzy Batkovic said the lineup of movies is set to be a hit with the young and young at heart.
“Our Riverway Movie nights are a great night out under the stars, and this year we have a terrific lineup of movies to get the kids excited,” Cr Batkovic said.
“We often have a great turn out of families, with people bringing along a rug, some pillows and even a picnic to settle into the evening.
“For those who aren’t as organised, or want to eat out there is even a food truck and a coffee van set up.”
Councillor Batkovic said with a viewing time of under two hours families could be home and in bed by 9pm.
“The best thing about being located on the Riverway Oval is the kids can run mad, and by 9pm you could be home and they’ll be knackered.
“These nights really are for everyone, it’s easily accessible and for most movies we are able to activate captions for those with a hearing impairment, please just make sure to check with Council a few days prior to the event on 13 48 10.”
