King tides expected from Wednesday

Council is encouraging residents in low-lying areas to take precautions ahead of a king tide expected from this Wednesday.
The king tide is forecast to reach 3.84m at 8:11am on Wednesday 26 February, with further king tides up to 3.98m on Thursday 27 February, 4.01m at 9:31am on Friday 28 February and 3.91m at 9:47am on Saturday 1 March.
Council recommends residents in areas that are prone to minor flooding during high tides take necessary precautions.
Suburbs like South Townsville and Railway Estate may be impacted, along with Hanran Street and Ogden Street in the city.
Motorists are asked to observe any warnings and road closures.
