School holiday guide open for submissions
Date published: 24 May 2023
With the June/July school holidays on the horizon, local businesses, organisations or community groups are invited to submit low-cost or no-cost activities for the Townsville City Council’s School Holiday Guide.
Submitting an activity suited to children and young people up to the age of 17 is free and is an opportunity for local organisations to advertise their activities for the two-week holiday starting 24 June.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Cr Ann-Maree Greaney said the online Guide is a one-stop-shop for kids, parents and caregivers when they are looking for activities over the school holidays.
“The diversity of activities you’ll find is incredible and whatever your interests are, there’ll be something there for you,” Cr Greaney said.
“If you are a businesses or community group that offers activities for children and teenagers, don’t delay in submitting your activity details online.
“As well as advertising activities on the Council website we also invite organisations to advertise for free on the What’s On Townsville website, giving them two avenues for promotion.”
As well as tailoring activities to the young people up to the age of 17, organisations thinking about submitting an activity for the School Holiday Guide are asked to ensure the activities are low-cost or free.
“It’s important that the activities are accessible to all families so that they can make the most of activities on offer,” Cr Greaney said.
Activities can be submitted on the School Holiday Guide page on Council’s website by 5pm on Sunday 28 May.
