King tides expected from this weekend

Townsville City Council is encouraging residents in low-lying areas to take precautions ahead of the king tide expected from this Sunday.
The king tide is forecast to reach a peak of 3.99m at 7:35am on Sunday 19 March , with further king tides up to 4.08m until 9:18am on Wednesday 22 March.
Council recommends residents in areas that are prone to minor flooding during the tides take necessary precautions.
Suburbs like South Townsville and Railway Estate may be impacted, along with Hanran Street and Ogden Street in the city.
Motorists are asked to observe any warnings and road closures.
