Get your pet microchipped for free
Date published: 24 January 2023
Council is offering free microchipping to registered dogs and approved cats at CityLibraries Aitkenvale on Saturday, 4 February.
The event will run from 9am-2pm in the library carpark and any interested pet owners should phone 13 48 10 to make a booking.
Early registration is encouraged to avoid missing out on this free initiative, which is part of council’s commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership.
Committee Chairperson for Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability, Maurie Soars, encouraged the community to take advantage of this great Council initiative.
“Microchipping your pet greatly increases the ease of reuniting you with them if they become lost,” Cr Soars said.
“Plenty of people will have added a cat or dog to their family over the last few months so this is a great opportunity to help keep them safe and it’s all free of charge.
“There are limited spots available so make your booking as soon as possible to make the most of this great offering from Council.”
Kittens and puppies must be at least eight weeks old to be microchipped.
Another free microchipping event will take place at CityLibraries Aitkenvale on Saturday 6 May.
