Townsville gears up for Easter School Holidays
Date published: 24 February 2023
Local businesses, organisations and youth groups are invited to submit their low-cost or no-cost activities for the Easter edition of Townsville City Council’s School Holiday Guide.
Submitting an activity for the Guide is free and it’s an opportunity for local organisations to advertise their activities for the two-weeks of holidays starting on 1 April 2023.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Cr Ann-Maree Greaney said the online Guide is a one-stop-shop reference for kids, parents and caregivers for Easter school holiday activities.
“Whether you’re into sports, art, reading, creating, or anything in between, there will be an activity for you in the Guide,” Cr Greaney said.
“That’s why we’re calling on a wide range of businesses, organisations and youth groups to submit their activities for the Easter Guide which usually includes around 40 fun-filled activities.
“As well as advertising their activity on the Council website, we urge organisations to also advertise for free on the What’s On Townsville website, giving them two avenues for promotion.”
Organisations thinking about submitting an activity for the Easter School Holiday Guide are asked to ensure that the activities are suited to children up to the age of 17 and are either low-cost or free.
“It’s important that the activities are accessible to all families so that they can make the most of activities on offer,” Cr Greaney said.
Organisations can submit their activity through the School Holiday Guide page on Council’s website by 5 pm on Sunday 12 March 2023.
