Date published: 25 July 2022
A powerful production about the trying times youth face will take to the stage at Townsville Civic Theatre this week.
The focus is on high school students, Jesse, Connor and Phil, as they struggle to cope with the pressures of life while trying to manage relationships with the people closest to them.
Award winners, Shock Therapy Productions will deliver this funny, moving, poignant and dynamic performance Undertow.
The two-actor performance blends physical theatre with film conventions, and the story pulls you deeper.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said it was fantastic to have award winning theatre makers bringing compelling and relatable performances to our city.
“Undertow is a must-see for teens and their support networks, and could start some meaningful conversations,” Cr Greaney said.
“It already has rave reviews from their tour across regional Queensland.
“Our bumper 2022 Theatre Season brings diverse genres and something for the demographics of our community.”
Undertow, rated PG, will be on stage at Townsville Civic Theatre on Wednesday July 27 at 10am and 7pm.
