What’s On Townsville website receives industry-leading refresh

The What’s On Townsville website receives a whopping one million clicks per year and has just been refreshed with new industry-leading functionality.
The new website design makes it easier than ever to find events across the city to enjoy, whether you’re looking for something specific or just want to find something fun to do on a certain day.
Townsville City Council’s Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the updated website improved on an already well-loved community resource.
“What’s On Townsville has been the hub for finding out about activities across Townsville for years and receives more than one million views each year, so it’s only fitting that one of the most-used Council websites has received a refresh to make it easier for locals and visitors to find out what’s on in Townsville,” Cr Greaney said.
“We have also refreshed the TicketShop website using the same new look and feel, ensuring it continues to be Townsville's premier entertainment ticketing outlet for theatre, concerts and sporting events.
“This is a holistic way to look at all community events, whether they’re hosted by Council, touring production companies or community organisations.
“You can search for events based on accessibility requirements, preferred category or venue, and you can even choose to view events in an interactive map of Townsville if you just want to see what is happening near you.
“When you find an event you’re interested in, you can now easily add it to your personal digital calendar and even directly view the venue in Google Maps to help you travel there.”
Cr Greaney said there were some exciting events coming up during the next few weeks.
“If you want to be entertained, look no further than the What’s On website to find events like Amy Shark’s See U Somewhere tour, the North Queensland Ceramic Awards and much, much more,” she said.
“There’s no shortage of events across Townsville so jump onto the new What’s On Townsville and TicketShop websites to see what you can get up to right in your own backyard.”
