Writers to find their happily ever after with Short Story Competition
Date published: 3 August 2021
Once upon a time, there was a city council encouraging budding writers across Townsville to enter the 2021 Short Story Competition before time ran out.
There are only four weeks left to enter the Townsville CityLibraries competition, which has a focus on families of all kinds this year.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the competition was a great way to flex creative writing skills.
“The Short Story Competition is always a delight, with so many imaginative and moving stories entered each year,” she said.
“We have four categories: First Five for families with children under five, children up to 11 years, young adult from 12 to 17 years, and adults from 18 up. This means that anyone can enter and go in the running for the first or second prize.
“Families entering into the First Five category can draw a picture, take a photo, record a story or get creative in other ways to enter.”
Entries to the 2021 Short Story Competition are open until Tuesday August 31.
