Works from the City of Townsville Art Collection are being brought centre stage for the new exhibition Graphic Tendencies.
The exhibition, curated by Townsville City Galleries creative director Jonathan McBurnie and housed at Pinnacles Gallery, celebrates artists who have helped shape the City of Townsville Art Collection.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the exhibition was a feast of colour.
“There are some incredibly dynamic works at play in the Graphic Tendencies exhibition, which make it a thrill to see,” Cr Greaney said.
“Council is lucky to have a large number of works in the City of Townsville Art Collection, and being able to bring a selection of those works together for this exhibition is very exciting.
“This exhibition includes works from celebrated artists including Davida Allen, Garry Andrews, Ian Smith and Christian Flynn, so it’s well worth a visit to enjoy some of their most striking artworks.”
The City of Townsville Art Collection currently has more than 3,500 artworks.
Graphic Tendencies will be launched at 6pm on Friday 30 April at Pinnacles Gallery and will run until 13 August.
