Incident at Council worksite, Ross River Road

Townsville City Council is investigating after crews working on a footpath project on Ross River Road inadvertently damaged an underground electrical supply cable this morning.
The incident resulted in a loss of electricity to the immediate area. Ergon Energy crews attended the scene quickly to repair the cable and power has now been restored to all but one property. An emergency generator, organised by Council, is supplying power to this property.
A council worker was transported to hospital for monitoring. Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is being advised.
