Cr Greaney disappointed at vandalism on Magnetic Island

Local Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney has lashed out at vandals that have caused damage across Magnetic Island.
“Recently several sites on Magnetic Island have been victim of senseless vandalism – far more than just the burning down of the piano at Radical Bay,” Cr Greaney said.
“It is disgusting that our prime tourism destination, which attracts visitors year round is being defaced and that signs, fences and beaches are being ruined by selfish and irresponsible people.
“During this past week, we have seen signs at Arthur Bay Lookout and the Signal Tower destroyed, there have been fences that protect nesting turtles ruined, and the piano was burnt down again.
“It is not good enough and our community deserves better – all of these things require money to replace and fix and it is money that is better spent on projects that benefit all of our residents.
“I am asking for anyone that has any information about this destruction and vandalism to contact Policelink on 131 444 and share it with them so that the perpetrators are held to account.”
