Call for businesses, activities for summer school holiday guide
Date published: 13 October 2020
Make the most of these school holidays by listing your business and activities in the School Holiday Guide 2020: Summer Edition.
Townsville City Council is on a mission to help promote Townsville businesses during the upcoming holidays. Council is looking for low cost or free activities that are suitable for kids to include in the school holiday guide for free.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the School Holiday Guide was a staple for busy parents during the school holidays.
“As a parent myself, I know how tricky it can be to keep your kids busy during the school holidays. The School Holiday Guide is a one-stop shop to find activities and events to take the kids to for the whole summer period,” Cr Greaney said.
“This is a great opportunity to advertise your summer activities for free, which will help kids across Townsville beat boredom.”
Cr Greaney said the free listing was just one way Council was stepping up to support businesses across Townsville in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s more important to support local businesses now than ever before. COVID has thrown a spanner in the works of a lot of businesses owners’ 2020 plans, but Council is doing everything it can to support our businesses,” she said.
“I’d encourage all local business owners with activities for young people during the school holidays to jump on board and get their listing in for the School Holiday Guide 2020: Summer Edition.”
