Pinnacles Gallery reopens with new TAFE exhibition
Date published: 5 November 2020
Pinnacles Gallery is reopening to the public with the TAFE exhibition MAKE.
The space has been closed since it was damaged during the unprecedented monsoon early last year.
Townsville City Council Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said she was excited to see the gallery open again.
“Pinnacles Gallery is an incredible space, so I’m very pleased that Council is able to re-open the gallery with MAKE this Friday,” Cr Greaney said.
“This exhibition showcases just how much artistic potential is in Townsville. There are so many talented visual arts students at TAFE QLD and that talent shines through in this exhibition.”
Cr Greaney said it was great for Townsville to have another gallery space available again.
“Pinnacles Gallery is an important part of our arts community, so it’s wonderful to have this space available again,” she said.
“It was a big job to not only clean up the building following the monsoon, but to rectify issues with mould and water in the space.
“Thank you to all residents for their patience while Council has worked to get Pinnacles back up and running.”
MAKE runs from this Friday until Friday 4 December.
