TLDMG moves to Alert

The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group (TLDMG) has moved to Alert in a proactive move to ensure community-wide preparation for the impact of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The decision to move to Alert was made after the State Disaster Coordination Centre moved to Stand Up.
TLDMG Chair Jenny Hill said moving the group to Alert is a precautionary measure to assist in the monitoring of the spread of COVID-19 in Townsville.
“The TLDMG which includes the local health service has moved to Alert so we can provide support and effectively act on the direction being given by both the Federal and State Governments,” Cr Hill said.
“Importantly, we want the community to know that there is a concerted effort by members of the LDMG to monitor the situation and do what we can to protect the health of our residents.”
