New RADF grants round open for Townsville

A new round of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants is now open for artists, organisations and creative businesses.
RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
The grants are available to help fund projects that promote and develop arts, culture and heritage across the Townsville region.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson, Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney, said RADF grants made it possible for local artists and community groups to explore the arts from Townsville.
“Arts and culture are incredibly important to any region, and our Townsville community is no different. Through arts we are able to explore culture and preserve our city’s unique heritage,” Cr Greaney said.
“I would encourage anyone considering applying for a RADF grant to visit Council’s website and sign up, because this funding can go a long way to making your dreams a reality.”
Cr Greaney said the fund was open to more than just artists.
“Organisations and creative businesses should also strongly consider applying for a RADF grant. These grants are available to help bring the community together and bring your ideas to life,” she said.
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Palaszczuk Government was proud to continue its RADF partnership with local governments with an investment of $2.08 million, through Arts Queensland, for the 2019-20 fund.
“This investment will support the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences and professional development opportunities across the state,” Ms Enoch said.
“Projects funded through RADF provide pathways for learning, contribute to the creation of jobs, foster creativity and boost cultural tourism.”
This round of RADF grants runs until Sunday 28 June.
