Gulliver residents asked to take part in follow-up Liveability Survey

Gulliver residents are being asked to participate in a follow-up Liveability Survey to see how the community’s values have shifted more than one year after the initial study was completed.

Townsville City Council is working with PLACESCORE to deliver the survey that will be rolled out to Gulliver residents over the next two weeks to see what changes have occurred since COVID-19 began.

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said follow-ups are important to keep on top of the changes within the community, especially as we handle the long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s really important that when we survey our community that we follow up and continue to track what is important to them, especially following something as tumultuous as a global pandemic,” Cr Hill said.

“Gulliver was one of the suburbs that took part in the initial survey in 2019, and the results will show us how COVID-19 has impacted the community values, if at all, that were highlighted in the first survey.

“Council will follow up again next year with a city-wide survey to compare how values have shifted across the community as a whole and will allow us to continue to deliver works that align with these values.”

In the initial Liveability Survey, the top three things residents valued in their suburbs were nature, open spaces and neighbourhood safety.
