Local divisions change ahead of March election
Date published: 12 February 2020
Townsville City Council divisions are changing for the March 2020 election.
Council divisions were reviewed by the Local Government Change Commission last year, with boundary changes taking effect for the upcoming election on 28 March.
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said it was important for constituents to understand which division they belonged to and if their division boundaries were changing.
“The internal boundaries of divisions are changing in the Townsville City Council area,” Cr Hill said.
“These changes were made by the Local Government Change Commission last year to make sure that each division has roughly the same number of enrolled voters.”
