Mosquito treatments commence

Townsville City Council crews will undertake city-wide mosquito treatments from today following recent rainfall.
The ground and aerial treatments will continue during the wet weather to control the population of mosquitoes in the area.
Council staff will monitor any known mosquito breeding sites over the coming weeks to minimise any impact on the community.
Council recommends residents take precautions against mosquito bites such as wearing long clothing, using insect repellent and emptying any pooled water around the yard.
