Arts grants open to boost Townsville culture

Applications for the 2019-20 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) are now open for Townsville arts and cultural groups.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
RADF Committee Chair Cr Margie Ryder said the grants provided critical support for local creatives.
“The grants allow local arts and cultural groups to create new and exciting projects,” Cr Ryder said.
“We look for applications that show how the funding will go on to support and benefit the Townsville community on a broader scale.
“Council will run two workshops to help with the application process.
“I encourage any community groups, individuals and organisations that would like to get involved to look at the funding criteria and apply if eligible.”
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Palaszczuk Government was proud to continue its RADF partnership with local governments with an investment of $2.08 million, through Arts Queensland, for the 2019-20 fund.
“This investment will support the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences and professional development opportunities across the state,” Ms Enoch said.
“Projects funded through RADF provide pathways for learning, contribute to the creation of jobs, foster creativity and boost cultural tourism.”
RADF grants applications are open until midnight on November 10.
