Townsville City Council today launched it’s new online dashboards which will allow the community to access important information about Council and the city.
The dashboard project is a part of the Open Council reforms and provides data on water consumption, building approvals, animal registrations and much more.
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the dashboards will improve transparency and make Council simpler, faster and better to interact with.
“Townsville Dashboards is a central place the community and potential investors can turn to if they are searching for information about Council and the city,” Cr Hill said.
“The dashboards will also link residents to other government departments and major organisations such as JCU and the Airport.
“We are dedicated to providing our community with information that can be found easily and helpful to them.”
Governance and Finance Committee Chair Cr Verena Coombe said the launch of the dashboards is an important milestone for Council.
“Council has been working extremely hard to get Townsville Dashboards up and running for the community,” Cr Coombe said.
“This is an important step for improving trust and building confidence with residents.
“We are encouraging the community to provide feedback, so we can continue to refine and improve the dashboards.”
