Over 36,000 sandbags deployed around Townsville today

Townsville City Council crews have replenished sand and sandbags at the following sites:
- Cnr Bentley & Nome Rd
- Cnr Mt Low Parkway and Bruce Hwy
- Dalrymple Road Depot Car Park
- Cranbrook Depot Car Park
- Wulguru Community Centre
- Bicentennial Park Car Park
- Leichardt St Carpark
- PCYC Rasmussen
- Lou Litster Park
- Pallarenda Boat Ramp
- Bushland Beach Boat Ramp
- Yabulu Mobile Garage
Council crews have inspected and resupplied sand and sandbags at all sites at least twice today.
The SES Magnetic Island site is unable to be restocked and has run out of sand and sandbags.
Sand and sandbags are due to be replenished at Oonoonba Community Centre shortly.
Over 36,000 sandbags have been taken by residents today – with Council crews filling around 10,000 of them.
