Flash flooding warning for Jensen, Deeragun and Burdell

Residents in Jensen, Deeragun and Burdell are being warned they may experience flash flooding with the Bohle River, Saunders and Stoney Creeks predicted to rapidly rise.
There has been heavy rainfall over a short period in the area causing River and Creek levels to rise and potential flash flooding and fast-moving water. Residents in the area should move to higher ground if they are concerned about flooding at their home.
The Bluewater Community Centre remains operational as an evacuation centre and is currently staffed. The centre is at 14 Forestry Road. The Heatley Secondary College also remains operational as an evacuation centre and is currently staffed. The evacuation centre is located at 321 Fulham Road in the school gym.
Two Townsville City Council crews are on route to Laura and Woodlands Court to assist local residents.
