Council establishes new free sand and sand bag site

Townsville City Council has established a new site to collect free sand and sand bags at the Ridge Drive shops carpark in Alice River – near the Rupertswood general store.
Council crews have also replenished sand and sandbags at the following sites:
- Cnr Bentley & Nome Rd
- Cnr Mt Low Parkway and Bruce Hwy
- Dalrymple Road Depot Car Park
- Cranbrook Depot Car Park
- Wulguru Community Centre
- Bicentennial Park Car Park
- Leichardt St Carpark
- PCYC Rasmussen
- Lou Litster Park
- Pallarenda Boat Ramp
- Bushland Beach Boat Ramp
- Yabulu Mobile Garage
Residents are asked not to visit Bamford Lane Depot for sand bags. Council crews are using the area to fill sand bags for emergency deployment.
