Aerial assault on mosquito breeding sites

Townsville City Council will commence aerial treatments of mosquito breeding sites from tomorrow.
Council crews have been monitoring mosquito-prone areas across the city over recent days to identify target sites.
Ground treatments will be undertaken once floodwaters recede and target breeding sites can be accessed safely.
Residents are reminded that mosquitoes can carry disease. Wear long and loose clothing, apply repellent regularly and check yards for items that may hold water.
