Ring in the new year with Townsville City Council’s New Year’s Eve Beach Party tomorrow night.
The party will be spread out across three venues: Riverway practice oval, Strand Park and Nelly Bay.
Acting Townsville Mayor Les Walker said it was set to be a fantastic night for Townsville residents and visitors to the city to enjoy.
“This event is the perfect way for Townsville to farewell 2019 and welcome the new chapter that 2020 brings,” Cr Walker said.
“It’s been a tough year for Townsville, so there’s no better way to wrap up the year than with a big party like this.”
Cr Walker said there was plenty to keep the whole family entertained at the events across town.
“The three locations will each have a great view of the firework displays, and there will be a screening of The Emperor’s New Groove on the big screen at the Strand and Riverway from 7pm,” he said.
“Families can grab a bite to eat and catch the 9pm fireworks at Strand Park and Riverway, and there will be midnight fireworks at Strand Park and Nelly Bay.
“Have a safe and happy Christmas and we hope to see you this New Year’s Eve.”
The New Year’s Eve Beach Party events are free to attend.
