Council crews fixing burst water main on Magnetic Island

Council crews are currently fixing a broken water main near Hayles Avenue in Arcadia on Magnetic Island, with nearby residents likely to experience impacts to their water supply.
Plumbers are currently on site fixing the water main but it is expected to take between 4 and 6 hours.
A Townsville City Council spokesman encouraged residents living on Hayles Avenue and surrounding streets to conserve water until the repairs are completed.
“Plumbers are already on site and working to fix the broken water main as quickly as possible,” the spokesman said.
“Council would like to thank affected residents for their patience while repairs are underway.”
