Townsville residents can learn how to save money and live sustainably in the tropics by visiting Townsville City Council’s Rowes Bay Open House Day this Sunday.
The popular event will feature tips from experts in water sustainability, cutting down your power bill and much more.
Community Health and Environment Committee Chair Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said the Open House Day showcases how locals can be more environmentally friendly and reap the financial benefits.
“If people are aware how they can save water and reduce their power bills then they are more likely to make a conscious effort to think about how they can live more sustainably,” Cr Greaney said.
“There are some fantastic initiatives like the sprinkler swap – where people can trade their old sprinkler for a water-wise one free of charge, saving water and money.
“We’ve got some great tips to live more sustainably and cut your power bills. Head down to the Open House Day and our experts will share their best ideas with you.”
The Open House Day is held at Townsville City Council’s Sustainability House in Rowes Bay – 56 Cape Pallarenda Rd – on Sunday between 9am and 1pm.
