Conserve water notice lifted for Cungulla and Giru residents

A recommendation to conserve water has been lifted for Cungulla and Giru residents after a blockage in the Giru Water Treatment Plant was cleared.
Debris from flooding caused the system to be blocked, and residents were urged to conserve water while crews worked to clear the blockage.
The treatment plant services both communities even though Cungulla is in the Townsville City boundary, and Giru is in the Burdekin Shire Council area.
Council thanks residents for their cooperation during this time.
