Rockpool to close for scheduled maintenance

The Rockpool on The Strand will be closed for maintenance next week as a local contractor works to repair sections of the concrete pebble flooring.
For repairs to take place the Rockpool is required to be drained so the pebble mix can properly set.
Infrastructure Committee Chair Councillor Mark Molachino said Council was committed to maintaining its facilities to the highest standard.
“At Council we realise how important it is to keep our facilities in tip top condition for our residents and visitors,” Cr Molachino said.
“The Rockpool is popular with locals and visitors to the region, especially in stinger season.
“Council carries out maintenance on the Rockpool around this time every year to coincide with lower tides and low usage times.”
The Rockpool will be closed from Monday, and will re-open on Saturday June 9.
Signs are in place to advise the public the Rockpool will be temporarily out of action while the repairs take place.
