Kerbside collection makes its way through Zone 3
Date published: 26 February 2018
Townsville Waste crews will be making their way through Bohle Plains, Condon and Kirwan from today for kerbside hard waste collection.
The program is on schedule and crews will continue working through the wet weather.
Townsville Waste Services Manager Matthew McCarthy said crews are working hard and no delays are expected.
“Our crews will continue working through any wet weather events to make sure we stick to the current timeline,” Mr McCarthy said.
“We are expecting more rain this week, and we went to assure the community that kerbside collection will still happen.
“This is a good opportunity to remove any items that may have been damaged in the storms over the past week.”
Mr McCarthy reminded residents to familiarise themselves with their zone and watch for the collection dates.
“Zone 3 has started today and includes parts of Kirwan which is quite a large suburb,” Mr McCarthy said.
“We ask residents to check the map and make sure they know what zone they are to avoid putting their waste out too early or missing their collection dates.”
Zone 3 includes Kirwan residences west of Kern Brothers Drive up to Laguna Avenue.
