Santa’s workshop in Townsville this Christmas

Santa’s elves have been busy delivering toys for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal (MCTA).
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) partnered with the Appeal to complete a toy drive with community members donating hundreds of toys for families doing it tough this Christmas.
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal is an amazing example of the community coming together.
“The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal has really demonstrated what we can achieve when we work together,” Cr Hill said.
“This year we have been able to provide 1000 hampers and hundreds of toys to residents who have it a bit tough this festive season.
“Our hampers include necessities for preparing a proper Christmas meal, and now there will be toys under the tree too – this wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of the Townsville community.”
Donations are accepted all year, with any new donations contributing to 2019’s Appeal.
