Last chance to register for Welcoming Babies Ceremony

Date published: 5 June 2017

Parents of Townsville’s newest residents are encouraged to register their babies for the next Welcoming Babies Ceremony to be held at Townsville Stadium on Sunday, June 25.

Sessions are getting close to capacity; however there are still openings in all three sessions, 9am, 10.15am and 11.30am.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle encouraged families to get involved.

“The Welcoming Babies ceremony is a special occasion to formally welcome the newest members of our community,” Cr Doyle said.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for the parents and family and friends to come together and celebrate their new bundle of joy.”

Each baby welcomed will receive a welcoming certificate, a plant and a gift bag. The baby must be 13 months old or younger to be registered for this event.

There will also be free family entertainment, a professional photographer and baby and family related stalls and displays.
