Library to host zombie make-up and costume workshop

Visitors to CityLibraries Thuringowa tomorrow may see an unexpected sight as a group of youths and adults learn to transform themselves into zombies for the Brain Foundation fundraiser.

Led by the organiser of the annual Townsville Zombie Walk Brandon “Bee” Long and local make-up artist Kristie Cornea, the session from 10am to noon will transform a section of the library into what may look like a zombie apocalypse.

Council’s Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle said participants would learn how to do their make-up and costuming ahead of this weekend’s event.

“This type of make-up is very specialised and unusual and we’re excited to have a make-up artist come and give participants some direction and ideas on creating their own unique zombie look,” Cr Doyle said.

Bookings for the session were required and it has been booked out.

The annual Townsville Zombie Walk will be held this Saturday, September 24 from 5pm-7pm on The Strand.
