Pie House supports Christmas appeal for fourth year
Date published: 21 November 2016
Pie House will again throw its support behind the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal by donating $1 from each pie, donut and coffee sold on November 23 and 24.
The fundraising days will raise money for the appeal which helps put food on the table for local families in need over the Christmas period.
Pie House has supported the appeal for the past three years and this year hopes to win the corporate challenge.
The prize is a radio advertising packaged donated by 4TOFM.
Mayor Jenny Hill said without the support of local businesses, the appeal could not succeed.
“These are tough times and we are relying on the support of businesses big and small to help us meet our fundraising goal of $110,000,” Cr Hill said.
“In turn, we hope that the public supports Pie House in the purchase of their amazing coffee, pies and their new donuts.
“I encourage CBD businesses to pencil in the dates and make those days Pie House lunch days in the office!”
Pie House owner Lara O’Kane said they loved being a part of the appeal.
“We love the Mayors Christmas Tree Appeal as it goes to numerous charities at a time when families need a little extra love, especially this year with the local economy,” Ms O’Kane said.
“This year Pie House is going to #sharethelovethischristmas by giving away a free coffee and donut to a lucky customer who comes in during our opening weeks of The Donut Room. Be sure to post a selfie with the hashtag #sharethelovethischristmas while you are in supporting the Mayors Christmas Tree Appeal to be in the running.
“Together hopefully we'll make the people of Townsville's Christmas brighter.”
