Castle Hill Road closures

Castle Hill Road will be closed to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians from 7am to 4pm across three days next week to allow council to conduct routine maintenance and repairs.
The road will be closed from 7am each day from November 8 – November 10, reopening each evening at 4pm.
Works will include:
- Replacement and repair of speed humps
- Clearing and marking of drains
- Line marking
- Asphalt repair
- Trimming of grass, trees and shrubs
- Removal of debris, including minor rock fall off the road
All users of Castle Hill Road will need to be off the road by 6.45am to allow works to commence by 7am.
Residents living in homes from 340 Stanley St to the hill will be affected by the closure on Tuesday, November 8 before works move to the first car park on Castle Hill Road on November 9 and 10. Traffic control will be in place.
Castle Hill walking tracks will remain open but there will be no access to the road from the tracks.
Townsville City Council is committed to maintaining and upgrading Townsville’s roads, drains, water networks and all associated infrastructure.
