Library a one-stop customer service centre

Residents will soon be able to make all customer service enquiries at the new, convenient customer service desk at CityLibraries Thuringowa.

The new counter to open in June, will make the library a one-stop-shop for residents.

Council’s new counter service will assist residents with all EFTPOS and credit card payments including paying rates and dog registrations alongside the full array of educational programs, activities and borrowing services offered at the library.

Community and Environment acting director Susan Coker said the move into the library was about streamlining services while still delivering customers the assistance they needed.

“Our libraries are hubs for community activity and this relocation will allow for efficient services for residents in the one location,” Ms Coker said.

“This change follows the introduction of the Aitkenvale Library customer service desk, which opened late last year, and has proven to be successful.”

Council cash transactions can be made at any Australia Post Office or the Walker St customer service centre.

Self service facilities are also planned.
