Councillor Brady Ellis is a familiar voice in the city who first fell in love with Townsville in 2017, after accepting a promotion in his breakfast radio announcer career. His plans to be in town for 12 months quickly dissolved and he continued to immerse himself in the Townsville community over the next 4 years on air. After a successful decade of breakfast radio including an Australian Commercial Radio Award for best Entertainment/Music announcer in 2017, Cr Ellis retired from radio to open KX Pilates Idalia with his wife, Lily.
Since then, Cr Ellis has continued to double down and invest in what he calls “the best city in northern Australia”, opening KX Pilates Kirwan in 2023. Cr Ellis is passionate about building our community and creating a more vibrant, active and healthy city. He’s passionate about using his businesses to support our region and has many sponsorships of local charities and sporting clubs. You’re likely to find him walking around the lakes in Idalia with his daughter Sophie, in a Pilates class, or driving around Division 10 in his big blue pickup truck.
Cr Ellis wants to play his part in seeing Townsville become the roaring hub of northern Australia which he knows it can be.
