Councillor Andrew Robinson was raised and completed his schooling in Perth, Western Australia. On leaving school, he joined the Army, graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon and went on to serve for 13 years as an officer in the Medical Corps before being medically discharged as a type 1 diabetic.
Cr Robinson then completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at James Cook University and furthered his accounting credentials by becoming a qualified CPA and working for PricewaterhouseCoopers in both taxation and audit. Before becoming a Councillor, he held a senior role in the Department of Transport and Main Roads as the Regional Advisor (Finance & Business) – Northern for the Customer Services Branch.
Cr Robinson has served on several boards, including a bank and is currently the chair of two local investment companies. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
Cr Robinson is married with three daughters, all of whom have attended Mundingburra Primary and Pimlico State High School. Throughout his girls' schooling, he has helped at countless sausage sizzles, school concerts, P&C and community events.
Cr Robinson’s hobbies include chess, board games and military history. He also has a love for old bikes and cars. His everyday ride (once fully restored) will be a 1954 Holden FJ Ute. Meanwhile, Cr Robinson rides his beaten up, but classic 1992 Harley Sportster.
During his term, Cr Robinson is aiming to keep rates down as much as possible.
