In accordance with the decision of the Minister for Local Government Hon Ann Leahy MP, Mr Troy Thompson has been suspended as Mayor and Councillor of Townsville City Council for a period of 12 months from 22 November 2024.

Declaration
The 2024 Local Government Election was held on Saturday 16 March and Councillors were sworn in on Wednesday 10 April 2024.
