Dog Registration

Registration and identification of pets in urban areas is important for the well being of the animals themselves, owner's piece of mind, and to allow Council to plan for future community needs.
In Townsville, all dogs must be registered each year and carry an identification disc. Dogs are required to be registered when you get the dog or within 28 days of moving to Townsville, that includes puppies.
Puppies under six (6) months of age may be registered free for their first financial year. You will need to show proof of age when you register them.
Registration is renewed by 31 July each year. Discount is offered to owners who register their dog in July. Discounts are also offered pensioners and owners of desexed dogs.

Please note: If you are attempting to pay your dog registration renewal by BPAY, BPOINT and POSTBillpay, please disregard the biller codes on your statement and use the following codes instead:
- BPAY biller code: 303024
- BPOINT biller code: 303024
- POSTBillpay code: 0404
