Council is happy to work together with members of the child care and early childhood community to promote the provision of high quality care for children. This handbook is produced each year with the purpose of providing clear, up to date information about child care services in the region.

Disability Action Plan
The development of the Townsville City Council Disability Action Plan is an important step in building a strong and inclusive community that welcomes the gifts, talents and contributions of all its citizens.
The Disability Action Plan outlines council's commitments towards making Townsville's services and facilities more accessible to people with a disability, their families, carers and friends. The plan also details steps by which council may ensure that people with a disability and their carers are able to particpate in the planning of council facilities and programs.

Townsville City Council Family Charter
The Council acknowledges the significance of families in creating a strong and healthy community. This Family Charter provides a set of foundation statements which underpin the council's role with regard to families and family life in Townsville.
The Family Charter is an affirmation of families and a confirmation of Council's continuing commitment to making the City of Townsville a family focussed community. It reflects the ongoing commitment to existing family focussed programs such as library services, child care and family support services, playground and park facilities, aged care services, and cultural programs

Multicultural Action Plan
Townsville City Council is developing a Multicultural Action Plan with community groups and council stakeholders. The plan will be implemented across Townsville and it will have a whole of council approach.
The Multicultural Action Plan is a required throughout the state of Queensland for all government departments. The Townsville Multicultural Action Plan will focus on the local diversity of Townsville.
The implementation of a Multicultural Action Plan will enable Townsville City Council to provide more inclusive and effective service delivery.

Women's Action Plan
Townsville City Council is developing a Women's Action Plan with community groups and Council stakeholders. The plan will be implemented across Townsville and it will have a whole of Council approach.
The implementation of a Women's Action Plan will ensure that priority issues for women are addressed as part of Council business.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Protocol
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Protocol compliments other policies used by Townsville City Council, specifically when engaging or working along side Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples in the areas of arts and culture.
The document outlines processes and considerations for Council staff when working with arts workers from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
