Driving on beaches is a popular recreational activity for people wanting to explore, launch a boat, fish, swim, camp, relax and view magnificent scenery.
However, driving a 4WD, quad bike or even a trail bike on a beach can damage the natural beach environment and endanger other beach users.
It is important to know what you are legally allowed to do when driving on beaches and how best to reduce potential hazards.
