The Southern Suburbs Mobile Library (formerly the Mobile Neighbourhood library) visits Magnetic Island weekly, and travels as far south as Cungulla beach and as far west as Woodstock. On Thursdays and Fridays this Mobile Library visits a number of urban areas. See our 2009 timetable (120kB) for information on the designated stops, or simply drop in when you see us in your neighbourhood.

On the truck you can join the library, reserve books, return books, use our internet service, or just pop in for a browse.

Facilities and Services

• Magnetic Island Storytime is once a month at Picnic Bay 10am to 11am.
• Start with a Story is our early literacy program which involves visits to childcare centres, playgroups, parent groups and other organisations. It provides a fun story time and a visit into the mobile library as well as free take home kits for families. To book your group see contact details below.

• Internet access is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
