The impressive facilities of the centre offer the opportunity for the region to present local, national and international artists and performances. In addition the centre provides fresh options for the private and corporate events market.

Riverway has a number of spaces available for hire for a variety of functions, including performances, weddings, conferences, meetings and more.

Amphitheatre

The Riverway Amphitheatre, formed by the grassed sloping roof of the arts centre, is one of the most picturesque outdoor entertainment venues in the region. Neslted among century-old raintrees and overlooking the Ross River, the amphitheatre provides a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

The amphitheatre can host community gatherings, festivals, outdoor concerts and other events for up to 1150 people. The large stage area caters for a variety of performances and other uses.

Foyer

Enhanced by unobstructed views of the upper swimming lagoons, the 245 square meter foyer is an ideal venue for product launches, trade displays and meet and greets.

With an impressive 5 meter glass door opening into the spectacular lagoon environment, it is the perfect place to mingle with friends for pre-show drinks at the Foyer Bar, which offers full bar services for performances and functions.

Riverway meeting room

The 100 square-metre meeting room features views of the lagoon, landscaped gardens and the Ross River.

With flexible seating arrangements, it can be presented in board room style, u-shape, round tables or lecture style with rows of seating facing a presenter.

A range of audio visual equipment is available for hire on request, and catering is available by arrangement with Centre Management.

Lagoon Terrace

The terrace of the Riverway Lagoon provides the most spectacular outdoor environment to host a small function or event.

This setting captures the breathtaking surrounds of the lagoons, landscaped gardens and Ross River and is perfect for outdoor sit-down dinners or cocktail-style functions.

The stunning surrounds of Riverway will add a touch of elegance to any function or event that needs that special something.

This area is only available on select days and evenings, and catering is available by arrangement with centre management.

Workshop Space

The Workshop is a 40 square metre space located in the back stage area and is classified as a wet area which makes it ideal for activities such as painting and arts and crafts.

The space is available for hire as an additional breakout area during meetings and conferences or as a basic meeting room for smaller groups.

The space includes a sink, workbench and short-term lockable cupboard storage.

Hire policy

The Management and Staff of Riverway Arts Centre would like to inform all visitors and patrons to the venue of our aim to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. It is our objective to provide alcoholic beverages in a safe, professional and responsible manner, while at the same time doing so in a courteous and friendly attitude. It is the policy of this organisation to refuse service to any person for any of the following:

1. Underage Drinking

The only forms of Identification are a Drivers License, Proof of Age Card or Passport. If asked to provide Identification by a staff member and you cannot prove age, you will be refused service. These conditions apply whether at the Foyer Bar or in any of the function rooms. Underage patrons must be at all times under the supervision of their legal guardians. At no times can underage patrons be in close vicinity to the bar.

2. Intoxication

Visitors and patrons of the venue will not be allowed to drink to excess and place either themselves, other patrons, staff and the community at risk. We will not engage in practices that encourage the rapid or excessive consumption of alcohol. Only one drink per person will be served at ‘last drinks’, Spirits cannot be a part of a Beverage Package, and a general policy during functions of only two drinks per person to be served at a time will be enforced. Low-alcohol and non-alcoholic alternatives will also be freely available. Duly intoxicated persons will be refused service. If requested to leave the venue we reserve the right to have security or the Police to remove such persons if required. No Beverage Package shall exceed a five (5) hour duration.

3. Violent or Disorderly

Behaviour any such behaviour by patrons of the venue will result in such individuals to be refused service, asked to leave the venue, removed or the Police to be called; or any combination of these.

4. Non-Compliance to Licensed Trading Hours

Licensed Trading Hours will be adhered to at all times. The vacating of the premises within 30 minutes of the License ending will be adhered to at all times.
